Michele DeRosa, originally from New Jersey, took a line dance & couples class, in 1990, in Stuart
and enjoyed it so much that she immediately signed up for private lessons. Within 6 months she
placed 2nd, in Waltz and Cha, Cha, Cha, at her first pro-am competition. She then went on to compete
in a couple other divisions over the next few years. She first taught line dancing & couples, in
1992, at Martin County High School, then went on to teach at many locations throughout the treasure
coast area.
In 1998 while practicing her West Coast Swing routine for a country division 1 competition, she fell
in love with WCS. For the next year, with her partner Kal Branson , she went on to do many shows
with their WCS routine. Her dance background includes many diverse things such as: being on a dance
team, both placing & winning many Jack n Jill and strictly swing comps, competing in Pro-Am with her
students, choreographed line dances non of which were as controversial as her partner Jerry Siebe's.
