Rona Kaye began her line dance teaching experience in New York City in 1993. She was the Dance/Special Events Coordinator/House Choreographer for six years at New York City's premiere Country establishment, Denim & Diamonds (D&D) on Manhattan's East Side, until they closed their doors in January, 1999.
Rona's many teaching credits include her six year "gig" at Denim & Diamonds, teaching there at least five nights a week. Her many dance weekend credits include Tim Gillis' Dance Weekend (still and since 1998!), The Big Apple '97-'03, The Baltimore Bash '03, Easterns '07-'10, The All American '06, The WOW '06, The Ft. Wayne Showdown in '04 and 2011, The Boston Showdown in 2007/'08, The Boston Revolution in '05, Forty Arroyo's Ladies of Line 2007 and September Fun 2008 (and back again this year!), Worlds from 2005-2009, Tampa Bay Line Dance Classic in November, '08 and '10 and her first Country Cruise with Kevin Richards Entertainment back in February, 2009. She will be joining Stella Cabeca and her dance crew this coming October for another cruise! This will be her third year with New Jersey's "Might Never happen Again" Line Dance Event in September and she is most proud to have been invited back again this year to teach in Chicago at The Windy City Dance Weekend Event in October, 2011! Having been made a permanent member of The JJ Jam dance family with John Robinson, Chris John, Junior Willis and Jamie Marshall means the world to her...only thing is her name at that event is "Jona"! And, of course, having been invited this year for the first time to teach at The Sunshine State in November in her home state of Florida...well...just an awesome feeling...thank you so much to Kim and Zac for the kind invitation. Rona feels very blessed and is most grateful to all of the event coordinators who continue to extend invitations to have her teach at their events. Teaching line dancing is her passion and she continues to maintain her classes in New York City on a weekly basis and also teaches Intermediate/Advanced choreography on a regular basis with The Outer Rim NY/NJ.
On air credits (TV performances) include New York's Fox After Breakfast, RuPaul Show, Good Morning America, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, Access Hollywood, MTV, Cool in Your Code (New York City) and Comcast (Chicago). She choreographed a line dance that was featured in a scene in Paul Reiser's film, "The Thing About My Folks" with Peter Falk.
Rona makes her living in NYC as a certified group fitness instructor for New York Sports Clubs (May, 2000). She is also a certified personal fitness trainer with NASM. She teaches a number of dedicated Seniors in her many "Silver Sneakers" classes. She is also a certified and licensed "Zumba" instructor!
When the doors closed at Denim & Diamonds in January, 1999, Rona vowed to "not let Country die in Manhattan". She wanted to produce an event in New York City, providing a special place to keep the energy high for the Country Music and Dance lovers, to continue to keep the "family" together and to welcome newcomers to this unique world of line dancing. That's when "Pure Country NYC" was born. Going on year number twelve, Rona still continues to produce, direct and teach at Country Music and Dance events on a regular basis in New York City. She feels very blessed and grateful to have a very dedicated group of line dancers in South Florida...her "Florida Family"! Having been born in Miami Beach, Florida...her roots are strong there and she looks forward to every visit to reconnect with her dance family. Teaching at The Roundup in Davie whenever she visits is the icing on the cake!

If you are planning to visit New York City.she would just love to have you dance with her in Manhattan! "Cheers" to all of the dancers that Rona has met and danced with over all of these years...this "sport" of ours is an unbelievable phenomenon...an experience that provides a great health benefit, a much needed and appreciated social interaction, and huge amounts of joy whenever we dance, whenever we see each other...a true blessing indeed!
